After a year and a half of dating, Hunter and Dominic have called it quits. The âSunburnâ singer confirmed their break-up during a July 5 interview with Apple Music, in which he told host Zane Lowe that he is âdone being in relationships right nowâ due to his struggles with codependency.
When Zane noted that love shouldnât be a need from another person, Dominic agreed. âThat has bled into my relationships actually, which is crazy,â he said. âLike, my romantic relationships. That kind of dynamic bleeds into the line and itâs often the cause of the end of my relationships.â
Later in the interview, Dominic discusses his return to season 3 of Euphoria, saying he has a âbetter dynamicâ with âalmost everybody,â seemingly alluding to his break-up with Hunter. When Zane asked if the split would make it âweirdâ on set, Dominic said itâll be âfineâ and theyâre âall adults.â
One day after the Apple Music interview dropped, the Los Angeles Times confirmed the coupleâs break-up in a profile interview with Dominic. While he described himself a ârelationship person,â Dominic realized that he had to learn to be on his own for a while.
âWhen I had a girlfriend, weâd sleep over here. I could make music around her, which was crazy. In a new interview with Elle UK, Hunter opened up about her relationship dynamic with Dominic and how he keeps her grounded in "the sauce" of the entertainment industry. "I think we are able to be a safety net for one another," she told the outlet. "I feel like I've been learning a lot about the effort it takes to upkeep [a relationship]. Because it does [take effort], you know, especially in our world. But, to me, it's deeply worth it."

An audience member posted a TikTok of Dominic and Hunter passing by as they held hands ahead of his performance at Outside Lands Music Festival in San Francisco. According to the video, Hunter supported the musician during his set from the audience.
May 31, 2022: Dominic Comments on Falling in Love With Hunter
Just one week after rumors of their breakup surfaced, Dominic opened up about his relationship with Hunter in an interview with GQ. The profile refers to Hunter as Dominic's girlfriend, and notes that the singer-songwriter is "very much in love." In discussing the second season of Euphoria, Dominic revealed that one of the reasons he signed on to play Elliot was so he could spend more time with Hunter. April 1, 2022: Dominic Performs at Emory University
According to a report by The Emory Wheel, Dominic headlined a show at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia as part of the school's spirit week. He took to his Instagram stories to post a POV shot of the crowd, where someone held a sign that read "Where's Hunter?" He playfully responded by circling the sign and writing "Where is she anyway," underneath it. The "Babydoll" singer also wrote, "ATL Tonight was amazing, thank u guys."
March 27, 2022: Dominic and Hunter Attend the Vanity Fair Oscars Afterparty Together
Dominic and Hunter made their red carpet debut as a couple at the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty. The girls of Euphoria were revealed as the latest cover stars of The Cut. In a video interview with the publication, Hunter revealed her dream music festival lineup. "That's such a crazy question, f--k," she started. The 23-year-old star went on to list Arca, SOPHIE, Quay Dash, and Tyler the Creator as some of her dream acts. She then name-dropped Dominic Fike with a smile on her face. We simply love to see it.
